The EGO Bass Hyper 4 Pornograffiti is a five-string headless bass conceived as a true piece of contemporary Italian lutherie. Its dramatic multi-layer woods are not merely decorative: maple, padauk, Makassar, swamp ash, poplar and spruce are combined throughout the structure to create a distinctive visual identity together with a fast, articulate and highly responsive acoustic character.
The lightweight headless architecture improves balance and playing comfort, while the bolt-on neck uses our AVS – Asymmetric Variable Shape profile for a natural and progressive feel along the entire fingerboard. Black ERGAL assembly screws reduce unnecessary mass and complete the technical, modern aesthetic.
A Lace P Split Alumitone at the middle position and a Lace Alumitone Deathbar at the bridge deliver a wide, powerful tonal range with excellent definition. The essential passive control layout—volume, tone and three-way pickup selector—keeps operation immediate and lets the instrument's natural character remain at the centre of the sound.
The entire bass is finished in natural oil and wax, chosen to enhance the texture, colour and depth of the laminated woods while preserving a direct tactile connection with the instrument. Integrated NFC technology provides digital certification and supports secure instrument identification.
